Note: if you modify any of these objects in any way, you MUST rename the msh, rename the tga, hex edit the msh to reference the renamed tga and rename the odf. Or else we'd paste over each other's stuff. If you fail to follow this direction, I will simply disregard the stuff you give me (as it would compromise the entire level).
Maybe some sort of shooting gallery? Duckhunt lol. How would you ever pull off pazaak? Maybe you could do some sort of silly obstacle course? Which I guess would be like swoopracing without swoops with moving stuff and traps
Just some ideas, nothing to take too serious.
Anyway I love this idea of yours and I hope it'll turn out nicely
Mmm... Coastal sounds nice. Pier maybe? There could be islands to. That'd be cool.
And I guess I could repeat it here. How about a maze? There could be moving walls and stuff to make it interesting, and the models wouldn't need to be that complex, just maybe with a nice texture.

You can't mess with weapons in MP, but the other stuff you can do. Assuming the map never ends, the server can even remember the a player's inventory after he leaves/rejoins, but it would be based on the player name and thus it would be easy to steal others' items (would also have to clear it out every 1000 players or so to prevent running out of memory).

Ah, but Jet Trooper + Spectator = Spectator's dead.
He could just set up a whole 'nuther room that has A TOP. But coastal sounds, nice, too. Maybe you could set up a couple of these.
EDIT: If I ever understand this fully, I'd get a plor with my new Observatory model. But how would this work? Would we pass around to everyone and put up for D/L every 5 people or so?

I'll take a corner spot please.
That sounds neat!

Each person has a LYR file, and they only add objects for their plot. Then they send me their lyr and any new msh or odf, and I munge it all together. I'm going to start laying out the map now, the terrain, water, foliage. Then I'll have a few people that I know I can trust to do stuff test a few lots and see if this system will even work out.
I had an interesting thought in the way of entertainment-- a dueling arena where you could spawn computer controlled players to fight against? I was thinking something similar to clan maps in JKA. Not sure if that would be possible, or if it would work online, but it's just a idea.
It would be awesome if this could become another hosted project. What types of sides should it have? Crazy? Realistic? BF2-ish.
Also what era in Star Wars time? And how do you want this project formed? Just input from the forum? Or you could do a series of polls.
This project should be interesting. I would love to help out with skinning, coding, siding or anything in between.
Same here. I think realistic-ish sides would do for the city part, but for the other parts, (i.e. racing, dueling, etc.) would need more combat oriented sides.
