Battlefield 2142 for me?

I'm looking at different things to get for Christmas, and I've stumbled across Battlefield 2142. I've played battlefield 1942 and I have all the expansion packs that came with it (in one box, but I've only installed the basic disk). I've been looking at screenshots and I've been reading reviews about this, and it's looking good, but i would like the valued opinions of all you fellow Gametoasters. If you can, talk about the gameplay, sounds, graphics, and all the goodies that come with a new game. Thanks a million to all Gametoast members that respond to this!

My opinion: The game is great, and even tough its like BF2, almost no body plays BF2 now that BF 2142 is out... it's like SWBF 1 / 2

Must. Get. Game. ARGH!!!! *bashes head into monitor until December 25* Man, enen though it doesn't have any sound (might be me, not sure) that looks awesome. Almost halo-themed with weaponry, but that looks awesome, especially that mech-walking thing towards the end. How many classes are their available to play through, and what king of weapons are available? (machine guns, snipers, ect.)

There are four classes and many weapons (About 16, 4 unique to each side, 8 are unlockable) Clasees are Sniper (Reckon), Rocketeer, Medic, and Assault. Main guns are (parenthesis is a modern wwapon you can compare it to) Sniper Rifle, Machine Gun (M-60/M-249) , Rifle (M-16), and Rocket Launcher/Assault Rifle (M4) You have unlocks (such as granades, weapons, abilities, and other thigns such sa mines) and different ranks. Dunno, i think it's prety sweet.

BF 2142 I would recommend as a definate must have for many many reasons. I'm not going to go into them all I'll just point you in the direction of:

But yeah I recommend this to all. For me SWBF 2 is by far inferior to BF2142 and hopefully the First Striketeam will have some nice SW goodies available for it soon. EA will no doubt have addon packs for it in the future (much as they did for BF2).

Oooooooh, a download link! I'm gonna try her out when I get home today from school. The weapon selection sounds cool and unocable abilities sounds like a nice touch as a reward for playing their game!! Thanks again for all the input and time spend helping me out!!

If you don't have the money to buy it in the first place, then you probably have some sort of "allowance" in which case it is not your money in the first place. It's all coming from your parents' pocketbooks. Get a job...

Obviously the majority of the people on this site (which seem to be young teens) get some sort of Christmas present or something from someone, if they are asked what they would like then I think it's fair enough for them to say (be it BF2124 or whatever!). It solves a lot of problems for all involved although it does take something away the "it's the thought that counts" aspect. It's a little tough to expect all of them to be completely financially independant at that age, especially with school and other extra curricular activities.

To get back on topic, if people are unsure as to whether to get/own the game or not then I'd recommend looking at the demo (URL in my first post above), or various "review" sites.

Well there is no "rocketeer" class. I think you meant the engineer. The classes are Recon, Engineer, Assault, and Support. Assault has medic capabilities. And you can't compare the BF2142 weapons to their modern counterparts because they have none. Completely designed from scratch. There's also plenty of music, amazing score as a matter of fact.

So yeah, MOST of it was wrong, lol.

By rocketeer i meant guy with rocket launcher (the engineer). And about the music I meant the crappy video I made, not the game.
You CAN compare BF 2142 weapons to today' sworld, because I'm not talking about hwo they look, but what they are like. Ex. Bianchi LMG ( Ithink thats the name) has 200 or so bullets, and shoots really fast with really low accuracy unless you are lying down. Same with M-249.
