Maveritchell wrote:I know that you know that I know (not to be confusing  ); what I said was simply a reminder - if they're not kitbashes of Pandemic models you really should be crediting the original authors in the topic.

That said, I personally think it's a little disrespectful to the original models' authors to disassemble their models and mix-and-match them with other models. I won't say that it's against the rules, but it is a little disappointing to see.
mm you mean credits to pandemic studios/lucasarts ? because of course i so should add it to all models xD directly is better put in the first post always that, or you meant other thing :) ? and well i mixed parts in this case because is really hard reposition arms and legs from jka models :S i already am little

No; it's a given that any kitbash you make is going to have some pieces from Pandemic's work. I mean NeoMarz and HapSlash, because they did the heavy lifting in that case.

This is my point:
Image
See this picture? Anyone browsing this topic sees two names associated with this model. One is "B.I.G._Cookie," who presumably gave you either the "idea" or the simple retexture, neither of which is a whole lot of work. The other is "Deviss," who did the enveloping, which is also not a whole lot of work. The two people who did the actual work on that model - HapSlash and NeoMarz, are mentioned nowhere unless you actually download the model and read the readme.

This is why you get posts like this:
nice work my friend
omfg  i love it  if u guys did this all by ur selves u rock
...neither of which are saying "oh gee nice work" to the original authors; they're only saying "thanks" to you. It's not that they shouldn't thank you for enveloping the model, but the real credit should go to the actual authors, because anyone with a copy of XSI foundation can envelop a model - few have enough talent to actually make the model in the first place.

I don't hate you (or anyone); it is somewhat frustrating to feel ignored, though.

So from this won't people think YOU made all models together?

If thats the case, then just put all their names. Or at least put them up in the post below the pic, a

You assume they'll read the readme. I'm not giving you a hard time for my fun; I'm bringing this up because I already know it's a problem - too many times is credit given only to the uploader. Just fix it, please.

well your (people of other countries) always think the people will read the readme file so i try trust on that, but i know in my country that is false, and of course the people only want the model and only will keep that, when they release any model so will try remember the credits for they don't get push warnings etc, and well Mav you are:
Admin in one forum
that is same to:
Chief/Boss of the place where one work in real life
so i will always give you the reason, so directly i only can say you: YES and make all your petitions etc, only i have the little illusion, a person can learn even the smallest
FIXING NOW TO YOUR PETITION LIKE
