You Make me Sad...

Very few of you seem to have taken to 2142. It is really a great game and much better than the Battlefront series. Maybe the problem is you played BF2, and its infinite problems and glitches turned you off, but 2142 fixed that. Overall the game is geared towards teamwork and skill. I was hopeing Northern Strike would garner more intrest but I guess not. Maybe you guys (and girls) prefer single-player, in which case don't waste your money on a mutiplayer game. However, I was hopeing most o you would take the step up from battlefront to a more advanced game, but all I see is like 5 people visiting this forum. Battlefront has passed out of style. The only time I play it is for some of the amazing mods I find on these forums, but the game engine itself is lacking and multiplayer is too simple. You people need to step it up and come to the future. It's a little cold but a great game.

I disagree 100%.
SWBFII is, in my opinion, the best Third Person shooter around.
Sure, many people say Clone Wars era/Jedi/Engineers/Rocketeers are "unblanced," but the sides have great styles that do, in the end, cancel eachother out (most of the people that complain about unblanced gameplay are usually the ones I can shoot a rocket at, in their face, because they don't move fast enough).
I've played Battlefield 2142, and honestly, it just seemed like Generic Shooter #456, like some sort of combination between Mech Assault and Generic Shooter #212.
Just my view on this, don't expect us all to move to BF2142 because of one random rant.

Thats just it. You don't shoot rockets at infantry, you use rifles. Obviously star wars has an apeal, and the backstory is nice, but the game is lacking. There are no medics in Battlefront. Shure there is the engineers who have health and ammo, but how many of them are there? In 2142, every assault kit has a med hub, and they can "revive" you when you die, with no penalty to your team. 2142 has unlocks, which allow for customization as well. Really, Battlefront is more generic than 2142. I'm not gonna start an arguement over that, so don't bring it up again. I'm really just surprized you guys haven't made the jump from Battlefront to Battlefield. They're not very different, and both based on the same skills.
Since there is no Battlefront 3 on the horizon, I'd suggest 2142.

Was that a good idea to have that kind of tone to a GT admin? I'm not really sure, so I'll back off on that...
...Anyway, this might become a flame war, I can smell it in the leaves of...uh...the forest.
And my closing comment: A few little features won't exactly change a gamer's mind. It might help in the descicion, but it won't be the game's biggest draw, lol. So I have a question: Were those features you mentioned the sole reason you switched over to BF2142? Seems kind of single-minded (no offence) if you ask me. It also might seem like it to others, which is why I smell an upcoming flame war soon....

People have different ideas and opinions about games, always have and always will.
The lack of interest from current GT BF2142 owners is something that
is disappointing, especially as we've seen a slight decrease in SWBF modding of late. To me
BF2 and certainly
BF2142 are far superior to the SWBF series, again just my opinion however I feel that people who do own the game are largely unaware as to some of the great features and possibilities. This is something we're hoping to redress. Hopefully the creation of some modding tutorials etc... here will bring some much needed life to this sub forum.
I'm also in the process of producing something really neat which will hopefully spark up interest in BF2142, however
ARC if you think of something which you'd like to see, do, partake in etc... then feel free to PM me or post.

Alrighty then, I'm out of this conversation. I'll have to contemplate this whole issue about a decrease in modding of SWBF2.

Just because you believe BF 2142 is a better game doesn't mean it is. Both games are good in their own way. SWBF2 is easier to mod, but the multi player is pretty crappy (IMO) but still fun. In BF 2142 it's fun only if you are not playing with nubs, and since most people are noobs it's gay. I hate it when a medic chooses medic just for the weapon. The whole point of BF 2142 is teamwork, and about 1/3 - 1/2 don't help each other out. When there is teamwork, the game is really fun. Anyways, I'm not really into either game at the moment.

I don't even think you can compare the two games, they are totally different after my opinion.

I disagree, It's fun to own many noobies in 1 round

I'm not impressed with 2142. It's all about flashy-ness to me, and lots of the multi-class fun is gone. SWBF/SWBF2 have a wide variety of classes. And as far as rockets go, that class is supposed to be to take out vehicles.

Personally, i've never played
Battlefield 2142. It looks stinking awesome, it's just I would never be able to run it on this computer.
But when it comes to
Star Wars Battlefront 2, I just find it fun. It's easy to mod and make maps for, and people keep 'em coming. This is also why I like
WarRock. Not for maps and mods, because there are none. I just love the style of the game. Just in case you don't know,
WarRock is pretty much a clone of
Star Wars Battlefront 2 in more present time.
Besides the fact that
Gametoast has pretty much been dedicated to
Star Wars games since it started, I don't see any reason to switch over.

What? Vehicles? I always used those to blow units off the face of the map. It's funny watching a unit fly.

I played 2142 on the beta and althought it had many thousands of cool things, i just prefer the star wars universe. (probable even more then my own real universe.) There are soooo many cool games out there this topic is pointless to discuss 3 peoples views on 2 of them, haha.
