I've never played EAW but I am considering playing it at the local LAN house sometime. What are the pros and cons of it? I am thinking about buying it and would like to know some information about it before purchasing. =)

Pros: AWesome graphics, sweet effects (like when a star destroyer dies and breaks into pieces), fun skirmish modes, and awesome galactic campaign mode(if youve got the time)

Cons: Takes a decent computer to run at full settings, galactic campaign mode can take days to finish with all the planets on the map. Oh and you might get pwned online. Its an RTS thing. Some people are wicked good.

Pros: Graphics (as geoman said) and Battles r fun. (I perfer Space battles)

Cons: Can take a bit long to load occasionally if u dont have the recopmmended computer. So many startegies in online play its almost like luck. U win some u lose some.

Off-topic : Also, do not hesitate to have a look at the Articles or Sections being dedicated towards Star Wars : Empire At War on LucasArts®, GameSpy©, GameSpot© or IGN Entertainment© web-sites in order to get a broad preview of the different Abilities, Features and Possibilities offered by this same video-game, no matter whether a large part of Visual and Textual Documents being provided at the concerned Places may be at the very least "Developing" and "Eulogistic", additionally to a possible consulting of the LucasForums© Section having been added for the aimed Petroglyph Games© Product, and easily accessible through this web-address...

Off-topic : I can't help being in dissension with the fact Star Wars : Empire At War's Embedded Artificial Intelligence is that uneffective and disappointing, since it has been made at least as much simple and easy to revamp than the one shipping with LEGO Star Wars : The Video Game, which implies that even though you are considering this Important Element as being somewhat "Unaggressive", it has nonetheless greatly favoured the Immersive Appearance of the concerned LucasArts® Product, although the generated Charm could cease to function at any time...

Empire at war was the biggest dissapointment for me in video game history.
I expected a fun, well thought out game like Rebellion, except with better graphics and battles, but what i got was:

Cons: empire at war is a game that can be only summed up as a ten-year-old's strategy RTS. The only and i mean ONLY way to win is to spam your enemies with units before they do the same to you. there is no diplomacy tactics, which makes for an incredibly unrealistic planet structure, seeing as none of them can do what they did in the movies, and go to the rebels side if they support them more than the empire. The rebels have the same strategy as the empire, that is to kill them with sheer numbers. now THAT is unrealistic. The only way to destroy the death star is to win a space battle whle red squadron is alive in your fleet. if it was realistic, any fighter should be able to attack, but maybe not suceed. if the death star is destroyed the empire INSTANTLY loses. worst mistake petroglyph could have made. if a hero unit des, they come back later in the game completely healed. at least in rebellion if someone died they were wounded or taken prisoner, not stunned for 2 galactic days! and that brings me to another con, the fact that the game runs on galactic days. because of that, it looks like you can build a star destroyer in only 2 days. hmm, now thats realistic! the campaign mode does not follow star wars canon.

Pros: Great graphics, and awesome space and land battles

Off-topic : In fact, Real-Time Strategy Video Games have mostly appeared as being at the very least perfectible and somewhat unrealistic compared to other sort of Entertainment Softwares featuring comparable Universes, merely because of the multiple Functionalities and Possibilities having to be handled and taken into account by a considerable Amount of Textual Instructions registered inside Scripted Elements, and for that reason, attempting to make any Stuff featured and aggregated towards the aimed LucasArts® Devising as much credible and appreciable as possible would be eventually lost beforehand. On the other hand, thanks to the numerous Resources and Source Files having been delivered for a while by Petroglyph Games®, be sure working out some of the Issues and Irrelevant Details you may have reported previously could be achieved rather easily by persons having gathered enough Knowledges and Lessons dealing with the management and writing of EXtensible Markup Language-based Expressions...
