Trouble with patch and editor...
mmmkay, so I downloaded the patch and the editor. I installed the editor, no problem, but whenever I try and run it it never comes up. Second of all, I cannot install the patch. Every time I hit 'agree' it loads about a tenth of the way and then says "ERROR: Directory Invalid!" What's going on here?

Well, even though I have not that concentrated my efforts on the understanding of Star Wars : Empire At War functioning, I would suggest proceeding to a complete checking out of the Factors which might have affected the Installation of the "Patch" you have talked of earlier.
Therefore, I would like you to provide me answers to all the following questions, no matter whether you might consider some of them as being either "obvious" or simply "unhelpful", as they could help us to figure out what may be wrong with this LucasArts video-game. So, here you go :
Therefore, I would like you to provide me answers to all the following questions, no matter whether you might consider some of them as being either "obvious" or simply "unhelpful", as they could help us to figure out what may be wrong with this LucasArts video-game. So, here you go :
- What is the letter associated to the Hard-Drive on which Star Wars : Empire At War is currently installed on ?
- What is the exact "Installation Directory" you have chosen in order to place this LucasArts Product ?
- Which path the Patch Installer you have attempted to execute had been moved in ?
- Have you tried to install the concerned Update while making sure all the "Modifications" you downloaded earlier had been entirely removed from Star Wars : Empire At War folders ?
- Have you thought to download again this Patch from Servers different from those exploited by LucasArts ?

1. C:/
2. The default directory.
3. The correct directory.
4. I have no mods.
5. Yes; I've used FileFront, Lucasarts.com, and a gamespy FTP.

TheTao, would you mind providing me additional details regarding the answer you have associated to the third question I asked to you ?
Indeed, telling me "the Default Directory" cannot help me so much, as the possible folders you might have downloaded or moved this Star Wars : Empire At War Update's Installer are almost infinite...
Furthermore, it seems that a member belonging to Petroglyph Fan Forums faced a problem similar to yours and would have succeeded in working it out by re-installing Star Wars : Empire At War several times, as stated inside this external thread...

RE: Trouble with patch and editor...
The game's default installation directory; C:/Program Files/LucasArts/Empire At War/Gamedata. Thanks for that link; I'll check it out.

Alright, in that case, I would advise you to move the Installer associated to the Star Wars : Empire At War Update you have attempted to install from its current location to either a Directory which does not count Spaces or other "Special Characters" inside it, or to the Root of the Hard-Drive the concerned LucasArts Product is installed on, TheTao...
