Confirmed heroes UPDATE!

Let's start!
Here is a list of all confirmed heroes and their origin until now:
(Perhaps I'll add their abilities later on but I don't have enough time at the moment)

Alliance:
- Commander Ackbar (movies, ep6, Rebel fleet commander, Mon Calamari)
1) SPACE Increases attack strengh of rebel ships in a certain are
2) SPACE Can improve the shield of his ship at the expense of firepower and speed
- Han Solo & Chewbacca(movies)
1) SPACE The Millenium Falcon can be made invincible for a short time
2) GROUND Han can deactivate hostile vehicles for a short time; Chewbacca can hijack hostile vehicles
- Kyle Katarn (Jedi Knight II, in EAW probably as a rebel spy, not as Jedi!)
1) GROUND Can plant bombs
2) GROUND Can sprint for a certain time
- Luke Skywalker (movies)
1) SPACE Luke is part of the REd Squadron, which is the only squadron that can destroy the DeathStar)
2) SPACE Damage increase can be activated
3) SPACE Speed can be increased at the expense of firepower
- Mon Mothma (movies, ep6, Member of the senate, rebel leader)
1) SPACE Improves the defense of rebel ships
2) GROUND Production costs on the planet where she is are lowered (25 per cent)
- Obi-Wan Kenobi (movies)
1) GROUND Force Healing heals infantry near him
2) GROUND Force Protection reduces the hostile damage at friendly units
- R2-D2 & C-3PO(movies)
1) GROUND Can control hostile turrets
2) GALACTIC MAP (strategy map) They can steal hostile technologie
- Raymus Antilles (movies, ep4&6, Rebel commander)
1) SPACE Reduces hostile attack strengh
2) SPACE Can improve ship speed at the expense of firepower (his ship is some kind of an upgraded Corellian Corvette)

It's on the back of the SWBF2 instructions manuel. I'm glad Kyle finally made it in to one of their stratagy games. I wonder if they'll have different versions of Luke Skywalker or just the pre-Yavin one.

I thought this, too but I saw Han working alone in a trailer. But they seem to fly in together in the Millenium Falcon!

Only the presence of the Emperor's Hand will suffice to persuade me getting this game... We all know her life as a Jedi / smuggler, but her past stays rather "elliptic"...

you don't have to be a jedi to have a lightsaber, duh. sith have lightsabers and they're not jedi. there's no reason the emperor couldn't have given her one (and he may have in fact, i dont remember or know if its been stated one way or the other)

and leviathan, the only reason you're getting this game is because mara jade is in it?

I know that, but only Jedi (and Sith, you're right) can handle lightsabers effective! (Just think about Gen. Grievous loosing two of his arms after about 2 minutes of fight against Obi)

btw: Wasn't Leviathan also the name of Darth Malak's ship in KOTOR? Howevr it is a sea monster in the bible

That's right, sh4d0w'... My current user-name is based on both these two elements... However, I'm not sure the Leviathan is mentioned for the first time in the Bible, since it is an aquatic monster equally quoted in Scandinavian legends...
Also, dreadlord', I'd not get Empire At War just to see the Emperor's Hand in-game... However, it is a "major" argument for me...

Well, also the Bible got inspirations from somewhere else. And the missionaries were intelligent enough to notice that other peoples will rather accept the Bible if they recognize some of their own elements... But I don't want to start a religious discussion.

under "The Troops" section click on han/chewy and u will see...i can see there teamwork will come in handy lol
