Demo release is either Sept 30th or Oct 1st because the release is Oct 10th and they want to do the same thing they did 4 Battlefield 2 which is release the demo 10 days before release.
And 4 those who are/want to preorder EA's special is get the demo 24 hours before everyone else. So those people get the demo 11 days before release. I'd rather get the new SCAR-11 from Best buy

The timing on the demo sounds about right (not to mention that it will be a new map).
I agree with Moving_Target, the bestbuy gun does look like a better deal (already pre-ordered and got the USB drive and code).
Also, it has been annouced that any computer that can run BF2 will be able to run BF2142.

Hey guys.
Im presuming you guys played the 2nd beta ( the open beta ) .
The 1st beta that I was invited to play , the gunships rocked. The handling was awesome. They were so agile , you could do anything in them.
However, for some strange reason, they changed this for beta 2 . They made the handling far far far less agile. Everyone who played the both betas let Dice know to change it back to beta 1 status ( on the feedback forums).
Also in beta 1 the APC pods had a crazyily long range. You could pod from 1 side of the map to the other. It was great fun the 1st few times ..however it was gonna wreck any kind of squad/team play so they nerfed them down (which most people were asking for) . However they seemed to nerf them way too much. Expect to see them have a slightly bigger launch range in the demo , which is dated for Oct. 10th ..with the actual game release on Oct 17th.
Also , yea , the game was very un-optimized in the betas. Not too mention the server stability.

Video Card:
NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200
it works
: AMD Sempron(tm) Processor 2600+ ~1.6GHz
it works
Well the DEMO at least so no reason why it should not in the game itself
