So i like free stuff too, so what?
I have to say that i like Firefox. Especially the extensions.
Neways, how about Paint.NET (basically a Photoshop-esque version of Paint made by some division of Microsoft, but unofficially, and for free). I think that it's more useable than GIMP, and there are addons for it (a major plus for me lol).

Stickying it...
I have found a great deletion utility called Unlocker. This program force deletes files and folders from your hard drive even if they are locked by another program ("Cannot Delete Folder: It is being used by another person or program." error).
I've been cleaning out my USB hard drive (Old IDE hard drive encased in a USB closure) so I can have a portable storage device for my recorded TV shows (Never home when they come on, but that's what a MPC is for . I highly recommend getting XP Media Center or Windows Vista Home Premium when it comes out if you want a TIVO that plays BF: 2142), but some of the folders would not delete, even in safe mode (System Volume Information and WINDOWS are notorious for that, but for very good reasons. It holds your system restores. This is not my windows drive, so the folders were not needed). I found this program and it did the job very well. I've tried others, but this one is very simple to use and very powerful (plus it is free). If you have a troublesome file or folder, this program is perfect for you.
WARNING: This program will delete ANY file or folder so it is recommended to be used with caution. IT WILL cause your computer to no longer fuction if used carelessly. Please make triple sure it is not an important file/folder before deleting unless you like reinstalling windows.

Hope ya'll find this program useful.

Here are a few that I use all the time:
OpenOffice.org -An office suite like Microsoft Office (and can read/write MS files too)
Thunderbird -An email client. Use to replace Outlook or manage all your webmail accounts from a single place.
FreeMind - A mind mapping tool. Use to write down your thoughts.
Any Linux OS -Replace Windows at no cost. Many distiros, such as Ubuntu, provide a tool which lists hundreds of programs you can install at the click of a button (searchable and provides detailed descriptions of the programs/games).
KeePass -Stores your passwords (which should be randomly generated) in a secure place
Foxit Reader -Light weight (smalll and fast) PDF reader
Daemon Tools -CD/DVD drive emulator
Any chance of changing this topic into a request topic? Users say they need to do something and people post a good free program to do it? This topic could go on forever if we just list things.

Piriform is a trust worthy company, they make 3 other highly useful computer tools, and I've never had an issue with them.
Defraggler- Hard Drive/Flash Drive defragmenter utility, faster then the built in Windows tool
CCleaner- System cleanup and registry cleaner. Much better then the Windows Cleanup utility
Recuva- Deleted file recovery application, works quite well.
I suggested CPU-Z because it does pull all the necessary info, and more, its reliable, problem free, and it is also used extensively by enthusiasts and overlockers.
I guarantee you that any Piriform application or CPU-Z will not mess your computer. I've used both for years with out problems.
Hardware Monitor (HWMonitor) is also a useful tool for watching part temperatures while running applications that eat up alot of system resources. Good tool to check for heating problems and to see if you have good cooling.

Re: Free software
I personally used this and it cleaned out an incredible amount of space. Besides cleaning your registry it also gets rid of huge amounts of junk files. Your computers control panel options only let you clean some of your temporary internet files. This program will find everything in your computer labeled as a temp file (anything labeled as a temp file is useless) and delete it.

I prefer LibreOffice.
Read this article (in french, sorry, but you can use a translator), and understand. LibreOffice is developped by the OoO team but abandonned by Oracle. So it's more good!

Re: Free software
I found this fun software called PC Pranks.
What it does is prank your computer by giving it the blue screen of death/a window that chases your mouse/a window while run away from the mouse etc.
Its really good a free, well... the free version anyway.
http://download.cnet.com/PC-Pranks/3000 ... 82604.html
and theres another good prank software here
http://rjlpranks.com/pranks/ (this website can download the pranks separately so you don't need the whole pranks mainframe, which is much much better)
I put the fake delete prank on my friends usb and renamed the prank to 'Mario Brothers Forever Gold Edition'. It was funny...
