Does ZE work for you? NO
What edition of Vista or Windows 7 are you running? Windows 7 Professional 32-bit
What graphics card are you currently using? nVidia GeForce GTX650 OC
What's the current driver version of your gfx card? 331.82
What version of Microsoft .NET Framework do you currently have installed? v1.0.3705, v1.1.4.322, v2.0.50727, v3.0 and v3.5, v4.0.30319

Zeroediter crashes on start. [Solved]
When I click on it, the load screen comes up and then I get the standard windows XP "zeroediter.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close..." error screen. I have the fan favorites version of battlefront II installed in the default directory (C:\Program Files\Lucasarts\Star Wars: Battlefront II).
PC Specs:
System:
Microsoft Windows XP Professional
Version 2002
Service Pack 3
Computer:
Microsoft Authorized Refurbisher
Intel Pentium 4 CPU 3.00GHz
2.99 GHz, 0.99 GB of RAM
Phyical Address Extension
I can't find info about my graphics card (Seriously hoping that's not the issue).

Re: Zeroediter crashes on start.
Have you tried running it as admin?
Have you tried using 3DAnalyze with emulate Hw TnL Caps checked?

Re: Zeroediter crashes on start. [Solved]
For easier use, you can save it as a batch file (located at the bottom of 3DAnalyze). Then, you simply run the batch file and ZE opens.

Re: Zeroediter crashes on start. [Solved]
On XP, usually just Changing your display Color quality settings to Highest 32 bit solves it.

I already did that. It wasn't the problem, but the point is moot because the issue is resolved.

I'm glad you got it working, but you never said what you did or didn't try. We have a thread stickied at the top of this forum with the same information posted in this one. I'll end up merging the two threads eventually.

Re: Zero Editor Runtime Error (XP, Vista, Windows 7/8)
Does ZE work for you? No, I've got the Runtime Error
What edition of Vista or Windows 7 are you running? Windows Vista Home Premium
What graphics card are you currently using? Nvidia GeForce gt610
What's the current driver version of your gfx card? 9.18.13.1106, the newest one
Are you running 32 or 64 bit? 64 bit OS
What version of Microsoft .NET Framework do you currently have installed? 1.1 and 3.5
I've tried everything, using 3dAnalyse, using XP Emulators, dual-booting (that messed my PC up).
Another thing is how I could check my Visual Basic C++ library, and which is the required version for Zero Editor.

Thanks for your suggest, but trying to install DirectX 8 drivers didn't solve the problem.AceMastermind wrote:The exe mentions these:

I've believe that's a GPU Driver Problem. Some drivers of some cards seem not to be compatible with Zeroeditor, but BF2 works perfectly. I'm wondering if Integrated GPUs (like Intel ones) are compatible with Zeroeditor.

I've used an integrated Intel GPU before and I had to use 3DAnalyze to get it to work.543regiment wrote:I'm wondering if Integrated GPUs (like Intel ones) are compatible with Zeroeditor.

Re: Zero Editor Runtime Error (XP, Vista, Windows 7/8)
Does ZE work? NO
Operating system: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M
Gfx card driver: I've tried 314.14, 320.18, and 332.21
.NET versions: v1.0.3705, 1.1.4322, 2.0.50727, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0.30319****
It doesn't work when running as administrator, any compatibility mode, 3d analyze, or any combination of the above.
****When I checked the .NET versions installed using the method described in the first post of this thread (checking version of mscormmc.dll), I found that the v3.0 and v3.5 folders did not have this file in them. I'm not sure if this means they aren't installed (correctly) or if they just don't have that .dll. I also found that the version of the mscormmc.dll in the v1.0.3705 folder was 2.0.50727.
Im 99% sure that I had ZE working several months ago on this computer, but when I tried making a map last month, it didn't work. I thought it might have been an issue with something related to c++ runtime that installed since it last worked, so I removed everything since then but ZE still didn't work.
Also, I'm not sure if anyone's done this already or if it'll even help, but I looked at the .exe with a hex editor and found the runtime error; the error code was r6016 - not enough space for threaded data.

Re: Zero Editor Runtime Error (XP, Vista, Windows 7/8)
Here's another one for ya:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
No, ZE does not work on this computer, which is a laptop.
Operation System: Windows 8, Version 6.2, Build 9200
Graphics Card: Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600, although I control graphics settings using the NVIDIA Control Panel, which came installed along with my computer.
Graphics Card Version: 9.18.10.3071
64-Bit Operating System
Microsoft .NET Framework: v4.0.30319
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
I have tried running ZE as an admin, in all of the compatibility modes, with 3D Analyzer, with 3D Analyzer as an admin, and after re-installing/downloading it.
I have seen that changing color mode/options to 32-bit may fix it, although I am unsure on how to do this using a Windows 8 computer.
Thanks for any possible help in advance,
Corogl

Re: Zero Editor Runtime Error (XP, Vista, Windows 7/8)
What Visual Studio Runtime Packages are you referring to? Where can I find these?
EDIT
Update:
After installing the 2012 Runtime packages as the above post says, I am actually able to get past the Pandemic logo into ZE, although it instantly closes. Has anyone else had this issue and possibly fixed it?
