How would I go about creating a new mod like this?
So I wanna create a new side/era mod (private and won't be uploaded), which puts a new custom-made side against the vanilla-game Empire. I have the 3D models for the units for the new side, however I have no idea how to import these models and rig them to work in BF2. I want them to use the same animations, rig etc as the other sides, as well as use the Republic weapons. How would I go about doing this? Would I have to make any changes to maps? I just want the battles to take place on the regular maps and therefore don't have any need to make new maps, but would I still have to change them at all? If anyone could provide in-depth support, please contact by Discord - "Trini Gamer#9171" (space included, no "s), or feel free to just reply here if you can provide simpler help. I would really appreciate any sort of help in making this mod!

Is there a tutorial for how to do it on Blender or 3DS? Or just somewhere I can download XSI? Because the tutorial seems very specific to XSI and I'm not overly experienced in Blender.JimmyAngler wrote:Either that or 3dx max.

Thanks! Just one problem, it seems like the bones are no longer available. The file there just gives an .emdl and a bunch of JPG's. Is that what it's supposed to do? I have no clue how to use this, so any further tutorials etc would be great.Marth8880 wrote:XSI is still available: https://www.moddb.com/downloads/autodes ... od-tool-75

the .emdl file you would open with XSI. File > Import > Model. You will need ZETools plugin for XSI to export any new model you rig. You can find tutorials and stuff on the 3D modeling forum here
