I remember beta testing for this map and found it quite enjoyable to play.
Does this mean your back in action, Speck?

Re: Lotashi Z: X Province *Released!*
Actually very good mapped, guy, I like those inside machine rooms.
Also the skins are very nice, but here is an advice from me:
-(this is an edit)Now I played with 32 KIs, then it's ok, but in the canyons are only a few guys that don't know where to go. Is this street/bridge the only battle place?
-Thanks for reading my comment
Also the skins are very nice, but here is an advice from me:
One thing to add: It's not much fun to play with such a little number of KIs, I would advice you to make a ubermode and add some moreWhen I started your map and saw the skins, I thought: Hey, nice, looks like a cool legion.
Then I saw there weapons and that there're only those six standart troopers.
That could be changed. Just give them new, more weapons or change the clonecommander model (I always get sick when I see this marine in a legion of normal troopers).
You could also reskin those cyan-blue kristals, because it's a huge contrast to the ground
(perhaps it should be a contrast, then forget this line) or add some hoth-clouds and dust into the canyons, this makes a lot of athmosphere.

Thanks all!

I'm not 'back in action'... sorry :{
I have 2 more maps that are unreleased.. I barely work on SWB2 anymore for various reasons, but I do plan on releasing at least one of the remaining maps, Nyith:
http://www.gametoast.com/forums/viewtop ... 40#p328740
the other map is only halfway done at the moment, and I rarely ever work on it.. but it may get finished eventually.
([Skirata]Darman[M])
thank you for your input
• I like keeping the original BF2 sides [with few exceptions]. I try to make my maps feeling like shipped maps.
• I tried re-skinning the ice crystals, but for some reason, the texture never changed. I think it looks fine anyway though because it casts a nice blue light in the canyon.
• I believe there are Hoth dust clouds in the canyon.. +too many of them slows down the computer.
• I am very happy with the not-too-high unit count. Looking back, my previous maps have had way too many units, so I think this a good change, since you can walk onto a street without getting killed right away.
Thanks all!

Wow, glad to see you're releasing maps again. Too bad you're not going to mod after you release the other maps, though. Best of luck.

It looks like a good map but from the second I start playing it lags really bad. I have a really powerful computer so its weird for something to lag.

Hmm... you know, this map would be great for Dark Space.

Very good map speck_of_dust, even by your standards. I was astonished how well you pulled off the environment and the atmosphere on this scale without fudging it up (which is often the case with maps this size). My only complaint is that the map lagged really bad for me -- I'm talking 6fps here. While the environment is fantastic, you might want to tone the special effects down a bit to make it more playable.

Re: Lotashi Z: X Province *Released!*
a reason this map may lag is shadows. Try putting shadows on medium/low and see if that makes a difference. The Rhen Var objects cast shadows, and since there are so many of them, it may slow down the game for some of you.
Thanks for the feedback!

Re: Lotashi Z: X Province *Released!*
i dont have any lag on my "lowgrade" computer
the map is excellent, they gameplay is extremely good (ever got headshoted by the last enemy(sniper) from the floor above when capturing a the last commandopost? )
and the atmoshere is even better
especially the small controlcenters look like actual controlcenters, so much better than pandemics "echo-base"
only the mountainroute looks a bit bland but except for that tiny "flaw"

Re: Lotashi Z: X Province *Released!*
Wow. I mean, aside from the obviously breathtaking environmental effects, the ruins were just beautifully constructed. Well done.
I do recall, though, not being able to climb up one of the staircases without jumping (like there was some odd collision bug going on). It was on the right side if you are facing the ruins from the republic's caves.
