BFX Assets
Okay, so here are the BFX assets. I'm completely finished with BFX; I do not plan to make any further changes to it.
This release also signifies my retirement from SWBF2 modding. I'll probably still be around on the site, I just won't be making anything.
These assets contain the sides, the mission scripts, and the animations. Included also are a few small fixes to BFX 2.2 that I didn't feel like adding into a new version.
There are some stipulations with this release, though.
1. Do NOT continue BFX. There are some exceptions, stated below, but, I will not allow using the BFX assets to make a mod that is similar to it.
2. If you are planning to make a mod that uses assets from BFX, please contact me on GameToast via PM and ASK MY PERMISSION.
3. I will allow mods like BFX Campaign Mode, or adding BFX to the Conversion Pack. However, ASK MY PERMISSION first.
4. It is not necessary to ask my permission if you just want to use the BFX assets in a MAP.
5. GIVE CREDIT when you use these assets. Not just to me, but also to the people who made the original asset, as listed below.

Re: BFX Assets
Cool. I'd been considering making some grenades for a side chargeable like in BFX, so that'll be a lot easier now that I can use your .odfs for references. And of course I'm sure there's lots of other useful stuff in here.

Re: BFX Assets
sweet! I think I'll use the jetpack missile assets and the ARC trooper's anims, maybe check out some of the grenades and force powers too.
Re: BFX Assets
Excuse me just a moment....
Back to normal now. Thanks heaps ARC!
EDIT:
Oh yeah ARc, just one question. Are we allowed to add BFX era to our maps? IE unaltered BFX sides as a seperate era to normal CW/GCW era.

If you recompile the sides and use them, it will not be online-compatible any more.
Adding BFX era is allowed, I believe it falls under my 4th point.

That's as simple as referencing the sides just like you would stock sides, instead of
- Code: Select all
ReadDataFile("SIDE\\all.lvl"
- Code: Select all
ReadDataFile("SIDE\\BFX\\all.lvl"

Thanks for the source files!
Re: BFX Assets
Awesome assets ARC Commander! It´s really nice of you that you released them before quitting GT. I´m sure they´ll be very helpful for many modders!

FileFront has auto deletion queues due to high volumes of files on their servers [source]. After 2-3 weeks after your file's been uploaded they send you an email to whatever email address you registered with on FileFront (FF| Forums and the FF| Network don't count) warning you about the auto-deletion and they give you a week or so to remove it from the deletion queues. Once you remove it from the queues, you will never again have to remove it from the deletion queues or worry about them deleting your file because it won't happen. You just have to do it once. But you must be registered at FileFront.com, it doesn't count if you have an account on the FileFront Forums, or the FileFront Network. If you just do that than you won't have to worry about broken links, etc. I have never had any of my files deleted automatically they have always sent me a warning message and I removed my files from the deletion queues and nothing happened. Just an idea for anyone who wants to upload files to FF| without worrying about them deleting your file(s).
