I've been reading a bug/glitch thread over at the Pandemic forums, and there sure are a lot of 'em. I think I'll wait until the first patch is out and the price lowers before buying this one.

Seconded, I'm not even sure if I can run it, and I don't have a console. Add the fact that IGN's review of it wasn't sparkling, and I'm probably waiting awhile before I get it. (I'm not going to base it entirely on IGN's review, but they usually pretty accurately match my tastes)

I just got it for the PS3. The campaigns are great, but Instant Action is epic fail. They close off entire parts of the map so that the insultingly low AI count seems more reasonable. I sincerely hope they add a bunch of grunts in and allow full access of all maps in Instant Action modes, as it IS single player for cryin out loud. That would be the only thing I'd change with a modtools release.

Conquest failed...

Fusion, Thire and I had this discussion the other night on Xbox Live. It felt like it could have been more. And the glitchines and the forcing to sign up with an EA account are unforgivable.

I downloaded the demo on my PS3, and it was ok. It was more of a hack and slash mindlessly kind of game, but that's not nessecarely a bad thing. The characters and weapons were cool, so here is my final opinion. If you like action packed games, that don't involve much stradigy, this games is for you.

6.5/10 :)

I didn't actually say I didn't like it, though, I loved it. It was a solid game, not bad, but not the best thing ever.

Agreed, however for around $60, there are many games I would much rather get.

QFT. Especially as I can't rent the game to try it out.

Same here.

I although have seen some Reviews in the 2 biggest Gaming Magazines in Germany. All of them are very shattering with 63% = 6,3 ( 6,0 on IGN) .I never thought it would be that much bad.

On Giga TV i have also seen a Splittscreen comparsion between 360 and PC.It depends on your PC but
the Pc Version runs much faster and with more detailed Environment like Grass,TreeShadows and Fire. The Controls might be better on Console.

@ Teancum:Did you noticed on your 360 Version some lag (low Frames)?

I thought I was going to get it, but
1) It did not come out on the date on which I was planning to buy it, because I was in the area.
2) The IGN review was rather disheartening. Unfortunately, IGN is a site that tends to agree with my tastes.
3) After seeing the reviews here, that pretty much sealed the deal.
Besides, I already bought another game I have been wanting (for details, go the the "Good things..." thread) and am psyched about getting it.

Hey, I just bought LotR: Conquest and I placed it in my DVD drive of my Windows Vista and for some reason, it's not showing up. Any reasons for this? I could really use some help here!

The Game is not awesome ;-)
its ok but not a burner. the Campaign`s are not bad.
one big minus is you need to do the campaign, in which you play, ever and ever again from start when you fail at one of the goals like endboss or what ever.that sucks realy. The Archer and Warrior are cool:-) To play the Ents and killing Trolls in the Mines of Moria was much fun.Actually i stopped playing Osgiliath.Where you can ride some Horses and use them as battering ram.3 Missions a Day are enough.LotR-C isnt that much thrilling to play it for more than 1 Hour. The GFX and Game flow are good. For me its not like the Ratings from 55%.Its more like 73%.
It will have a short life on my PC that for sure.

I see no benefit in basing my enjoyment of a game on others ratings. Other than some of the forced difficulty on the harder campaigns (couldn't get the 20 guys in 2 min. on Mt. Doom on heroic, but I can beat most of legendary fine), I thought the game was a blast. I can play online for hours, and I have to say, sniping is by far my forte.

Just realized my video card doesn't support pixel shader 3, and hence I am SOL for LOTRC. :(

The last post HERE says that you could use 3DAnalyze to make it work, but I'm not so sure.

I wouldn't worry to much. Unless they come out with mod tools for it you're better off not buying it on PC anyways.
