Star Wars: The New Era

They have been around for awhile, but they just released a news update that really got me interested.

EDIT:
This is a Source Mod that isn't released yet. (For the possible, "OMG U R PR0 SWBF2 M4PP3R!!1!" people.)

Everything looks a little too clean and shiny, but I see major potential here.

Yeah, been following this mod for a while.. it has made some nice progress. It's aimed to be the Movie Battles 2 for Source I believe, as it is made by some of the people who contributed to the JKA mod.

I kinda like it being shiny and clean, especially in Naboo palace, which should be clean, and Mos Eisley, since it makes it look very dry. Mygeeto could do with some more damage and dirt though.Teancum wrote:Everything looks a little too clean and shiny, but I see major potential here.

Yeah, I noticed Pahidrica's DC-15A model there.DeathRow wrote:Yeah, been following this mod for a while.. it has made some nice progress. It's aimed to be the Movie Battles 2 for Source I believe, as it is made by some of the people who contributed to the JKA mod.
Looks like its gonna be good when its finished, but the only game I have is HL2:DM, so I don't think I can run it.
(Then again, I know nothing about these sorts of things)

^Same, but after that, that sealed that I was going to get a source game. I've heard good things about HL:2, probably that.

Re: Star Wars: The New Era
it's too bad this isn't released yet, it definitely looks like it will be a blast. there is also a Star Wars: Source that was in the works, but the last update for that was back in 2006. has anyone managed to find a good Stargate source mod? the ones i've seen on the site all seemed good but the comments were so negative, so i didn't bother with trying.

Looks nice but isn't this copyright infringement?

Re: Star Wars: The New Era
Do you HAVE to have Half Life 2? Or can you have a game that uses the engine, such as Portal?
Lol, because I just recently got Steam, all I have is Portal, and I don't have any spending money...

Re: Star Wars: The New Era
Besides the 3 month bump, I'll answer your question as best as possible.
Source Mods can need any assortment of games. Some just need a Source Engine game, others need Half-Life 2, and some can need even more (Such as an older version of Portal: Prelude needing Portal, Half-Life 2, and Counter-Strike: Source.)
As far as TNE, it's so far from completion (To my knowledge) that no one knows for sure what you'll need.
Also, what's your SteamID? I'll add you.
