animation: laatc drop atte

here is the lua, where you can drop a atte with a laatc.
you need the lua and you have to create a animation in ZE.
create a new world named TES and copy the files in the
C:\BF2_ModTools\data_TES\Worlds\TES folder.
and the lua in the C:\BF2_ModTools\data_TES\Common\scripts\TES
folder.
you can watch the animation ingame an in ZE.
ingame you wont see the prop atte but you see the vehicle atte spawn.
in ZE you can watch the complete animation.
in the lua file you can see how it works.
one problem ingame is, that there are yellow Arrows at the CP`s.
you need to work around with the lua, to delete the yellow Arrows, the rest works fine.
watch at the aniamtion names, odf names, and the names in the lua to create your own animation.
and you need an atte prop.

Can you post a small vid of what this anim does

create a new map and watch the animation.
and with the lua, you delete the atte prop at the time the atte prop hit the ground.
on the same place where the atte prop hit the ground you have to place a vehicle spawn point where a vehicle atte spawn at the same time the atte prop hit the ground.
this is what the lua does, but you have to create your own animation.
if you want to use this, try it and ask, if you have any question, i try to help.

Actually, everything you need is there. Just copy and paste the walker, and laat/c from the wld to your own, the anm stuff to your anm, the lua script to yours (under scriptpostload), and stick the odfs in your worlds folder.
Or is there something I'm missing Dragonum?
Still, I personally, will have to customize the animation and location of things.
Those Separatists on the Invisible hand will never see this coming.

yea, you can use the laat/c i released in another thread

and you need a real atte prop.
but there is no prop in the assets, so i think i create a atte prop.

Is there any way to see what this looks like in-game? Pics or movie animation would be great.

you want a video, where you can see that the script delete the atte prop and let the vehicle prop spawn.
and this at the same time?
thats all, you get with this file

Sorry, I'm a complete modding n00b. That went way over my head. I was just wondering if anyone out there has pics or video of a LaatC dropping an ATTE. I'm assuming (correct me if I am wrong) that this animation will allow you to fly an ATTE into combat under a LAATc, and do a combat drop. If I'm mistaken, please forgive me and ignore this post. I have it in my mind that this is similar to the Huey Cargo Choppers in Battlefield Vietnam using their cargo winches to carry and drop tanks into combat.

In a nutshell, the script calls for the animation, which you had to create in ZE, to start after a certain amount of time. After the animation finishes, and the ATTE prop hits the floor after an amount of time, the script calls for the prop to get deleted. That's when the actual driveable vehicle spawns, through a vehicle spawn point.

its only a script for an animation you have to create.
you cant fly the laatc to drop the atte.

Ok.. you have now answered my question then. Has anyone created a LaatC yet that can be used with this script? Also, is it technically possible to use the script with other vehicles besides the ATTE? For example could you use the LaatC to pick up and then drop a spiderwalker, ATPT or another vehicle? One of my favorite tactics in BF:V would be to pick up unsuspecting opponents and drop them in a lake somewhere they couldn't get out from.
Does this script just include the drop, or does it also allow you to pick objects (ATTE) up?
Lots of questions I know, and as I said I'm a n00b, so please go easy on me..

Question-- Once the AT-TE is dropped, will it be drivable? Is there any way To make that happen?

@elmo
The file is actually just an animation file. Basically it makes a LaatC fly in carrying an AT-TE; I don't think it's flyable, but maybe 'rideable' like in OFM's RPG. OK, so then the LaatC flys away after dropping it. The AT-TE would NOT be drivable, its just a prop, or part of an animation. Then, as a modder, you'd have to make an AT-TE spawn right after the prop disappears.
Does that make sense

That's correct, but you have to kind of 'Finish' the animation, by placing the ATTE prop yourself, I think, then you also have to animate the LAATC to fly away. I have got to this point, just I can't get around the vehicle spawn, making the ATTE spawn after 40/45 seconds. It justs spawns instantly.

Well, it'd be cool if you dudes could do something awesome with this, like have maps that drop in vehicles, rather than having them appear magically.
Maybe even have gunships that fly in, land, drop off troops that turn into normal AI, then the gunships take off! Well, that'd probably be impossible.

45 in the lua is the lenght of the animation, after this the atte prop get delete.
select the vehicle spawn in my project and you see under EXPIRETIMEFIELD
40, after 40 sec. the atte vehicle spawn.
you need 5 sec. different between the animation and the vehicle spawn.
Elmo wrote:Question-- Once the AT-TE is dropped, will it be drivable? Is there any way To make that happen?

YES!!!
thats why i released the script, i released a
script, not an
animation!
the animation you see in ZE is only for you to know how it works.
you have to take a look at the lua and at the animation in ZE and at the vehicle spawn in ZE to see how you can setup the script and animation in ZE.
