Proper Endor Skydome
I was making a Battle of Endor map over the summer, but I have since lost interest. So it's time to be generous!
I made/edited SWBF2's space skydome models to give a more Battle of Endor feel.
Looking ahead at the Death Star over Endor.
Looking behind at the Executor and the rest of the Imperial fleet. It's just an image if you can't tell. It's taken straight from the movie, though.
This also comes with an atmosphere model for Endor, like the stock planet models do, but the model is messed up. It should be an easy fix if anyone's up for it.
DOWNLOAD
Installation: I'm a little rusty on modding, but it should be as easy as dumping the file's contents into the Worlds/AAA folder of your space map. Maybe you have to edit an .lua or something to load up the proper skydome.
You have permission to reskin anything and everything (Not that I could stop you if I wanted to).
edit: Almost forgot, the texture used for the planet was made by Thomas Guilpain of the Celestia Motherlode.
edit 2: Yes, I actually came back seven years later and updated the image links on this post from photobucket to imgur, because I realized they weren't working anymore. If you are somehow reading this: Hi!

Re: Proper Endor Skydome
I added the Death Star to my map. Looks great! But does anyone know how to move it 180 degrees to the other side of the sky?

@kinetosimpetus - I believe the position of skydome objects is determined in the model. It would have to be rotated 180 degrees around the axis in XSI or another modeling program.
Or you could try putting the death star skin and mask on the imperial fleet model.

Try adjusting the Offset value until you get it in the position you want. I forget which way it'll move when increasing/decreasing the number, though.example .sky file wrote:...
DomeModel()
{
Geometry("end_sky_dome_death");
Offset(130.0);
MovementScale(0.992);
}

Re: Proper Endor Skydome
then you must enable double sided transparency, or it will not be rendered since you now look on the rear side.

Yay, a couple good ideas to try. I'll try them when I have a chance.

I could only tell that it was BF2 by seeing the Home One model in the bottom right and the HUD. I mean, daaaang!Food_Eater wrote:
