He needs to; there are a lot of people who don't post original assets so much as they post edited assets (which in my opinion is silly, but whatever) - the people who did the real work in the first place should receive most of the credit and most times they are forgotten (see: every converted model ever).

And then there's LucasArts who is forgotten about nearly every time, even in the final product of a mod.
