Re: Sound design
If you have access to a mac there are a host of resources available in regards to GarageBand, as well as Logic Pro if you can shell out some cash for it. I dabble in music quite a bit when doing cinematography for people and I can help you out if you have access to use those programs, other than those though I am not extremely familiar with windows music applications. A quick search though showed me a few windows apps that I have tried before, and some I have not seen before, about music creation.

This list has a lot of free apps with reviews:

Although let me get this straight, you would not like to know how to put these in-game? This is just for the sole purpose of learning music creation? It has nothing to do with modding?
Otherwise

Download .wav's from here, and import into AUDACITY(click me!). Feel free to mess around with the setting until you get the desired sound. Export as WAV (Microsoft) signed 16 bit PCM and follow the above tutorials, particularly marths for the required sound req's and the likes. Enjoy! If this is not what your looking for, I don't know what is. To make your own sounds record something like metal pots banging or water running or wind blowing or whatever the heck you want. Then mess with everything in audacity, it can do quite a bit of stuff!

You'd need to invest in software such as Finale or Sibelius, or even CueBase(sp?).LEO wrote:No i want to CREATE own sounds

Re: Sound design
That's great! Though what kind of problems have you had recording it? I've invested in a mic that I use for booms and close up voice recording, built in audio on computers don't cut it for me, it also works great for music recording. Also Audacity which loopy53 posted a link to is a very good free program for clearing out junk in a sound file, such as the background noise nobody wants. It also does a whole lot of other things and is definitely worth looking at.
