Re: SWBF Series Model Showcase Thread 5th Edition
@Potential posters
If you didn't model what is being showcased here then it shouldn't be in this thread to begin with, kitbashing other peoples/Pandemic's models doesn't make it your modeling work which goes against the guidelines/rules set for this thread in the first post:
Post pictures of your own models...
It is quite simple, if the model being showcased wasn't created by YOU then you shouldn't post it in this thread.
@Null_1138
It looks very detailed as do most models made with NURBS surfaces but SWBF2 doesn't support it, though you could generate very nice normal and AO maps with it for the low-poly game model.
@bamdur123
The best Padme model that i've yet to see is Toshi's Ep2 Padme, it looks very realistic and would be an excellent reference unless you're doing animated series style TCW modeling.

Re: SWBF Series Model Showcase Thread 5th Edition
I know that the lightsabers I made don't have the slightest hope of making it into BF2. They're just things I make as a hobby.
BTW, Helkaan, I use Autodesk Inventor.
Although now that you mention this, Ace, most of the lightsabers I posted were not my designs, just the Inventor models were what I created. I have given proper credit for the company that makes these sabers whenever I posted a rendition of their designs. Please tell me if that is not in keeping with the rules and how I may remedy any mistake I may have made.

Bamdur123 is making TCW padme, so I made the expected TCW padme pistol. Proud of this one, simple model but the barrell I textured 100% myself. Oh the model is mine too, I could have taken one fron JK, but decided to make one myself, for one the, mine is alot more poly efficient.

XSI/SI has AO renders, in SI 2011 its in Get>Material>Ambient Occlusion, I believe in 5.11 its only accessable through the material editor.

Re: SWBF Series Model Showcase Thread 5th Edition
In 5.1 and 5.11 select the model, hit 7 to bring up the mat editor. Then select Node>Illumination>Ambient Occlusion
After, attach the node to your shader material (phong, lambert, etc) in the ambient channel. This renders out with AO added to the textures, materials, etc.
If you want a AO pass only, bypass the shader material, and attach it directly to your objects material under surface.

WIP TIE Lancet
The TIE Bomber pods are stock, but slightly tweaked.
The rest is scratch. The whole thing will be UV'd to the TIE Bomber skin.
TODO: finish UV'ing, update UV for the middle wing frame, add the tailgun turrets, (and probably some forward guns for the pilot), hard points.
