I'm having a little trouble getting the other fake console commands to work. Can someone post a screen shot so I can see how the Fake Console looks in bf2_modtools?

EDIT:Also is it easy to activate all those commands by yourself?

The default exe does not allow for the commands. Zerted is trying to put them into his fake console, but as of right now, you can't access the real console (but you can in the modtools version) so until they are in there's no way to actually use the commands.

BTW -- there's probably close to 150-200 different console commands. I sent Zerted a list of the most useful ones. I'd say 20-40 we will never need.

If you can run BF2_modtools.exe just hit the ~ key then press tab to scroll through commands.

ok thanks alot ill do that now

EDIT: :( it says the application failed because binkw32.dll was not found :? :? any ideas how i can run modtools exe? or see the console commands a diff way?

Place it in your LucasArts/SWBF2/Gamedata folder then it will work. Simple. :)

Thanks for the pictures. I've been able to place new commands into the fake console. The commands don't seem to do anything though. What happens when you click on framerate or ForceDefeat?

Normally, the game gets the console commands from the exe. Since its normally not returning the other commands, it may not be possible to get those commands working, but I'll keep working on it...

The fake console is stored in mission.lvl. I might combine all my .lvl changes into one zip instead of having a bunch of topics that rely on each other.

Edit: Fake Console is not stored in mission.lvl. I don't have a clue why I made that statement.

Framerate displays framerate. ForceDefeat ends the game immediately in defeat. BTW, I'm posting findings on core.lvl in that topic.

@ Zerted -- I see the ifs_fakeconsole.lua. I'm hoping that ScriptCB_GetConsoleCmds() in the lua doesn't automatically get the console commands. I doubt it does, cuz there's tons of commands that don't show up in the fake console in the modtools.exe.

It's like a mix of fighter and infantryman - you use WASD to move it, but to change the angle of view, you have to use the mouse like in a space fighter.

So I checked via hex the difference between BF2_modtools.exe and BattlefrontII.exe. The devs literally removed all the console commands but ToggleQosDisplay in BattlefrontII.exe, so putting more console commands are impossible. Zerted, I'd just disable Fake Console on the menu. There's no need for it, since ToggleQosDisplay isn't used at all for what we do.

u dont really need it.
when u re-enter chase camera, just hit esc and then click resume game to get ur HUD bak
