Release Notes:
- The Mass Effect era will only appear in the era roster if Mass Effect: Unification R4 is installed.

DEVELOPERS: Aaron Gilbert (Marth8880) & (Redwiz)
CONTACT: company@frayedwiresstudios.com
RELEASED: Monday, May 5th, 2014
RELEASE TYPE: Map

***Please note that this is (an updated version of) my first map ever created or released***

INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Extract the archive “SolPioneerTrails_r2_standalone.exe
2. Cut and paste "PIO" folder into "Star Wars Battlefront II\GameData\addon\"
3. Launch Star Wars: Battlefront II and play Earth: Pioneer Trails!
(4. Please note that maps from the Sol Map Pack will appear purple in your map list.)

THE STORY:
Based on a real park in my neighborhood, Pioneer Trails is a beautiful place that makes for an excellent battlefield with its abundance of trees, grassy hills, large pond and open battlefronts. I actually happen to live in the same neighborhood as this park and it is a 5-10 minute bike ride on the trails.

THIS MAP CURRENTLY FEATURES:
- Eras including the Clone Wars, Galactic Civil War, Extended Civil War, and Mass Effect,
- A variety of objects such as trees (both standing and fallen), shrubs, turrets, barriers and grass,
- Vehicles (AAT, IFT-X, AT-AP, and more),
- Remarkably beautiful visuals,
- Five random weather variations,
- Environmental ambiance, and
- More included inside!

WHAT TO EXPECT NEXT IN PIONEER TRAILS:
- New eras such as Dark Times, THEWULFMAN's Clone Wars era mod, and the Mass Effect era, and
- Other game modes such as CTF and Siege (TBA).

MAP/REAL PARK DIFFERENCES:
There are not very many differences between this map and the real park. For example, this map is located in a completely tree enclosed area whereas the real park can be viewed from a sidewalk in my neighborhood. In the real park, there are even some houses from which you can clearly see the park! Another difference is the trails: the trails in the real park are concrete, have bended turns and some have park exits. Trails in this map are dirt, they lack smooth-bending turns and have no park exits. One more difference is the objects. The real park has a small playground, tennis court and baseball diamond/soccer goals while the map has Kashyyyk/Mygeeto barriers and turrets.

MAP NOTES:
- Foliage will not appear to be "commonly seen" unless your view distance settings are set to over ~50.
- Light bloom really enhances this map's visual quality; I highly suggest switching it on.

KNOWN ISSUES:
- Stuff. :P
- Note to self: add more stuff here.

I'll be modest here; I didn't really help you in any way on this map. I remember I volunteered to beta, but then I said that I couldn't, so please take me off the list.

EDIT: How deep is the water on this map?

- The water will appear transparent if your water settings are set to "low". Setting your water settings to "medium" or "high" will fix this. This is and always has been the same for any stock map.
Very False. See Felucia, and even Kashyyyk.

Anyway, I will skip the last beta you sent me, and just play this, I hadnt gotton to play the last beta yet, but I will play the Alpha now.

Well yeah, Felucia and maybe Kashyyyk, but I used Naboo's water texture. Either way, setting your water settings to medium should not be too detrimental to your FPS.

I posted about that in the WIP thread, and you yourself replied that by "transparent" he meant "non-reflective."

Would it be possible for you to release a patch that removes the water? My computer has water related crashing issues.

Anyway More on-topic: Very nice looking map, but wont the park officials be a bit PO-ed about you blowing it up? =P

Edit: lol i spelled spread wrong the first time i posted...on purpose 0_o

It has been exactly 30 days since the last post has been made in this thread so I should be fine with this little bump, and this section of the forum isn't all too active usually anyways. So I am bumping to make sure I do not break the 30 day rule when I post the link to my still-yet-to-be-posted-on-SWBFFiles Pioneer Trails map, and boy, I do hope that is soon; I am so eager to hear a review.

You can bump your own topic (or any for that matter) if you have relevant information to add, such as the download link for example.

Sim-al2 is right. There's more to the 30 day bump rule than just, "Oh, you just bumped a thread that is older than 30 days! Locky, locky! :D " The additional bit is there because it is reasonable.

If you're so afraid of breaking the site rules, you need to do a better job of understanding them. Your above post is like spam almost, by the way. The only reason you posted it was to prevent yourself from breaking a rule you weren't going to break, anyway. And in the process you broke the no spam rule. Please think about this for future postings. Also, if you aren't sure about something relating to the forums, the option to ask a staff member via PM is there.

While I do agree with mav's review on the gameplay it could be easily fixed.
However, what he said about the look of the map I can't fully agree.
I think that just because it's a sci-fi game it doesn't need to have lava and floating fungus to look cool.
I also don't think it looks much like endor. At least not the stock endor.
Anyways congratulations.
