REBEL OPS
---------

Rebel Ops is the three-part story of Lt. Vace Thermill, an Alliance pilot and intelligence operative. His mission is to investigate the mysterious "Project Drow," an Imperial program working to ensure victory in space for the Empire.

Mission 02
The Big "L"
-------------------

The Big "L" is a prison at an unknown location. Very little is known about this Imperial prison, other than that it is a series of mines in which captives languor away, forgotten by the outside world helpless to reach them. Following his capture at the undersea base on Aquilaris, Lieutenant Thermill became one of its residents.

Vace Thermill wakes up in this mine, though, and is contacted by what appears to be a friend. Can this unknown agent help Thermill out? Will Vace be able to escape this ironclad prison? Can he find out anything about Project Drow in all of this? These questions - and more - Lt. Thermill must investigate.

I picked a good time to check Gametoast xD.

As promised: I really like it, it was fun but still very challenging, and the Stealth part was fun but not easy at all :P. Also, that final part (I think it's the final part, I haven't gotten past it)
Hidden/Spoiler:
Flying the ship out

is incredibly difficult (or maybe I just suck at it...), but overall it was a really fun mission, I'll try conquest later.
Not a storyline spoiler, just an Easter Egg
Hidden/Spoiler:
In the information room (I think that was what it was called), there's a small strip with a scrolling texture displaying the opening crawl from Episode IV, I thought it was pretty awesome, lol

Awesome work, Mav. The difference between this version and the beta made gameplay slightly easier (but still challenging which is a good thing). I'm still dying a lot but that's just me rushing.

Im downloading. This looks like a true piece of art.

EDIT:It was awsome,love the end.

Maveritchell wrote:GCW Hunt: Story mode - play the first mission of Vace Thermill

The first?Isnt this the second?

it took me 42 minutes to compleate. It was awsome. One thing,at the end, when you win,In the status it shows your name on the rebel side and Darth Vader on the enemy side.I didnt see Vader anywhere. All in all this was an aswome story, hope the next one will be even better.

dark times conquest on Big L crashed for me. It just gave me a fatal error, which may be what's happening to my other maps in dark times.

Edit: Not just that crashes everything that has the option of darktimes, whether you are playing that era or not crashes and has a fatal message except the originals.

Too many missions? Remove some maps from your addon.

Though I understand how hard it would have been to make it...

Hidden/Spoiler:
the fan section needs some serious tweaking and/or removal (probably not an option since you've released it). I've been trying for the past half-hour to get past that last fan.
It just doesn't work very well at all. A good example of this is how sometimes, you would jump forwards, and the invisible collision object would just block you, and make you jump straight up with no lateral movement whatsoever.
I noticed your tip about avoiding the center of the airflow; however on the third fan there is no way to avoid it other than crouching down and walking through, which I've tried unsuccessfully many times.

Hidden/Spoiler:
However, everything else is great so far. The communication tool is really something

You need to jump over it. You can roll under it, but that is more difficult.

Well, I finally made it, though it doesn't seem that you can jump over it, per se, just through it with enough momentum so you reach the platform.

That's at the apex of the jump

I rolled the last two. Mav, what is the point of that "duck for cover" weapon you have at the beginning?

He told me it is a placeholder for the grapple gun.

I noticed that too. It would have been nice if it was used for something, I thought the animation was funny. :)

I've played a bit through the objective mode and like it so far, although there were a few spots I had trouble with.

Semi-spoilers:
Hidden/Spoiler:
Like some others, I had some trouble with the fan section, but only with the first one. It seemed like I had to jump in exactly the right place with no margin for error. The other spot I had issues with was the pressure-sensing platforms. In this case I only had trouble with the next to last platform - again, it seemed like I had to jump in exactly the right location to make the distance between that platform and the next catwalk section. I started that part with eight or nine lives and ended with one, so the mission ended when I was spotted by a probe droid.

Despite a few difficult spots it's really been enjoyable so far, and I think on a second play-through I should be able to get past them fairly easily.

I love the new sounds, and even the tiny details like the rancor(?) animations for the trooper looking around in the office area at the beginning look great. I think I might actually use that idea for some of my own work now, it seems like it would fit perfectly.

Great job, it has this wonderful feeling of a Dark Forces-themed Zelda game (or a Zelda-themed Dark Forces game).

the jump to lightspeed was great although the transport was hard to fly into the pipe

only one suggestion: you could bump andor specmap the stones etc then it would look even more awesome
