Icemember and I have been working on a massive project for awhile (over a year). Some things have gotten in the way like school, work, and life overall, so progress has been slow to say the least, but we finally wanted to get it out there to GT. Anyways, the whole premise of this project is that we wanted to take what inspired the Star Wars movies and take it to a whole new level never seen before. Take for example how the Battle of Yavin was inspired by dogfighting in World War II, or that the E-11 and DH-17 blasters were modified Sterling sub machine guns.
We took this idea and expanded it with this mod. You guys know of Icemember's All Battle Crisis map? (he is still improving the gameplay aspect of that map as well as updating some visuals, don't worry) Yeah. We wanted to take Operation Overlord and throw it into Star Wars format. Now, that is not saying that this mod is merely going to 'Star Warsify' World War II, no...we're including our own little twists too. Perhaps a Ia Drang Valley style map? Or a Battle of Inchon style? Or what about the Battle of Amiens? But we're going to have our own battles too, don't worry. I will post pictures of the different planets and operations that will be occurring as well as posting the story we've come up with (I'll release it in small sections, also will make sure continuity stays intact for the most part). We have many different custom legions as well as some well known ones, so as far as visuals go on sides? We're trying to bring quite a bit more variety and quality. Please bear in mind that what you see isn't necessarily the final product as we will be polishing them up with much better lighting (speaking of which, since Bob had to leave the team, we would like to ask for someone who can pull off better lighting than we possibly can), adding balance, maybe even new modes.
Now that you know the idea behind our mod, how about the progress? Well, here's the thing...since this mod is going to be constantly released in 'chapters', the mod as a whole has awhile away before becoming 50% complete as a full massive package in one (we're releasing in map packs by the way), since this will probably be a few years worth of an undertaking, BUT I can tell you at least which individual chapters are at least at what percentage, and that's what we're going to base our percentages off of - the individual chapters. Here's percentages of each individual chapters (also 'on the side' maps that still link with the mod in terms of story...story which I have been working on for quite sometime with Icemember). There are going to be at least 2-3 enemy factions and 2-3 allied factions, so you will likely not see much of the CIS, but there will be at least one or two maps where they fight the new enemy, I guarantee that.
