Re: How to set Opening Satellite Shots

Post by theITfactor »

I didn't see a post on this anywhere (and I completely forgot the command for it until Penguin told me a few minutes ago) so I decided to post it here for reference :P

To set the opening satellite shots of your map, launch the game with the BF2_modtools.exe and play your map then pause it and use the built in free cam or Zerted's FreeCam here:
https://www.se.rit.edu/~dpk3062/swbf2/m ... keconsole/
When you have the camera positioned how you want it, press ~ and then type:
DumpCamera
It will then copy those coordinates to CameraCoords.txt in your GameData folder, which you can use to replace the default ones in your luas.
You can get multiple shots like this at once.

Again, I didn't see this anywhere (maybe its in the documentation?), so I posted it for everyones reference.

BTW, great find. I'll have to use it sometime. :)
That is where you must paste the camera shots it copies to CameraCoords.txt

And I didn't discover this, I'm simply posting it for everyone to see since I don't think it was ever documented here.

You don't need my FreeCam to do it. BF2_modtools.exe has the 'Free camera' button enabled by default.

Setting the Spawn Menu Opening Screenshot

Post by Fierfek »

I followed the tutorial:
I went into the game.
I entered freecam mode.
I got to the desired point of view.
I hit '~', but nothing happened.

I can't get the camera dump to work, because when I hit '~', nothing happens. Help?

I am using a non-english keyboard (hungarian). What button should I press?
Edit: Ok, I pressed the left Ctrl and it worked.
