Aaylas Tenticals are stretched to the ground! (FAQ)

Post by SBF_Dann_Boeing »

Ok, i had this problem a while ago and I could never get it fixed. Now the same thing is happenning to a friend of mine and he can't get it fixed either. Aaylas tenticals don't work correctly and are stretched to the ground with no anims. He asked OGEB for help and OGEB told him this:
This problem is simply caused by the skeleton that she uses
for her animations, because she has tentacles her skeleton is
different. Basically what ever animations you want to use for her,
for example obiwans, you find that animaion set in
Assets>Animations>Soldier Animation Bank>ep3obiwan.
You copy that folder and put it in the similiar folder in the
map folder so ModID_data>Animations>Soldier Animation Bank.
Next you go back to the assets animations and into aaylas folder
and copy the .msh file "basepose" and copy over the
one in obiwans folder in your map animations

(the one you just copied to) NEVER EDIT ASSETS! I
cannot stress this enough. Once you edit it it is gone
forever as these are essentially backups.

Well once you
have that file copied over you run the batch file "munge"
in the obiwan folder and it will copy the files over
to the REP side folder. If you have created a new side
you will need to edit the munge so it puts it
into that (by default it will munge to the republic
side). To do this right click and edit, then change
where it says "Sides\REP" to whatever the name is.
Hopefully it should work. If it does't then you
are doing something different than what i expectec
you to so i would need this info to correct it.
This apparantly does not work. I'm wondering if anyone else knows anything about this issue.

This is what I did for my Ryloth map and it works great.
  • 1. Go to data_ModID/Animations/SoldierAnimationBank/ and copy the template folder and rename it Twilek or something like that.

    2. Now open the Twilek folder you just made and edit the .BAT file by right clicking it and hitting edit

    3. It should say something like "side\rep" somewhere in it. change "rep" to the name of your side

    4. You should also see that their is a mention to "aayla.zaf" change that to "twilek.zaf"

    5. Now go into BF2_ModTools\assets\animations\SoldierAnimations\Aayla.

    6. Copy the Basepose.msh that you will find their.

    7. Paste it into data_ModID/Animations/SoldierAnimationBank/twilek

    8. Run the .BAT file that you edited. Now your basepose/Anim set should be in your sidename\munged folder.

    9. Add this line to your units odf SkeletonName = "twilek" (If it is not already there).

    10. Run Visual Munge and Run battlefront 2.
That should do it. :)
