You heard me folks. The times are a changing.

Apparently, they're ditching their whole entire social system; chat, screenshots, ingame, the whole shebang just so they can focus on turning Xfire into a tournament managing system.
The whole thing's being thrown out Friday.
I'm still trying to figure out if this is some horrible joke.

Welp, RIP X-fire. I haven't used it in years, but it has/had a fairly solid video recording program built into it, and for a while it was the best free way to capture uncompressed in-game video.

Re: Xfire is shutting down its social platform
Maybe now we can finally change the "xfire" profile field here to "Steam"? :u
Also lol rip
I'll forever miss making GT-related jokes with AQT, wolf man, and agentsmith38 via the custom status feature.
Also lol rip

If anyone here has tutorials, guides or WIPs that rely heavily on Xfire screenshots or videos, you might want to get your stuff and upload it elsewhere.

Re: Xfire is shutting down its social platform
I can't believe how few alternatives there are to Xfire.
Steam's chatrooms really kinda suck (and don't log chat importantly), and the ingame option doesn't always work. There is also no video capture feature.
Evolve has much of Xfire's features, but lacks on the social side when it comes to chatrooms that don't log chat or have a system of moderators and admins. Also can't have custom nicknames.
Raptr has no chatroom feature whatsoever. Also no custom nicknames.
Skype is...never mind.
Diet Dr. Pepper, why do all of my childhood elements have to burn out in flames?!

And what were about writing letters (written on paper..) to all the others? I know it can take much more time but still works. Doesn't it?

June 13th and it's still online for some reason.
Man I hope someone gets fired over this. The execution of this whole thing was really, really poor.
