Introduction
----------------------------------------------------------------
These are the assets for my modified General Grievous.
This Grievous has only two sabers (with new hilt-models), a bunch of new animations, and new sounds.
He also has a new combo file, which changes some things:

-Grievous can't deflect anymore; but holding the deflect button will make him twirl his sabers
-While doing the animation above, and pressing the fire button, Grievous will perform a powerfull standing kick
-Grievous has a new dashattack, making a flip-over to bring his slash to maximum power.
-Grievous has a very quick third attack, which will replace the old one (with four sabers)
For more information on his new attacking combo's

The sounds are taken from Wookieepedia, General Grievous page. All credits goes to them,
LucasArts and Star Wars: The Clone Wars, for the original sounds.

Installation
---------------------------------------------------------------
Copy the lis.lvl to ...\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars Battlefront II\GameData\Addon\ABC\data\_LVL_PC\SIDE,

and copy HTM.lvl from the Sound folder to ...\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars Battlefront II\GameData\Addon\ABC\data\_LVL_PC\Sound

ABC = the 3 letter name of your map.

In the ABC script file add the following lines

    ReadDataFile("dc:sound\\HTM.lvl;htmcw")

Above the standard sound line, so it'll look like something like this:

    ReadDataFile("dc:sound\\HTM.lvl;htmcw")
    ReadDataFile("sound\\yav.lvl;yav1cw")
    ReadDataFile("SIDE\\rep.lvl",
                             "rep_inf_ep3_rifleman",
                             "rep_inf_ep3_rocketeer",...................

Then, add the lines for the General himself under the other sides section, like this:

     ReadDataFile("dc:SIDE\\lis.lvl",
            "lis_hero_grievous")

Now, add him (lis_hero_grievous) as hero, or unit, by renaming an existing class or adding a new one.

Scroll down to find the OpenAudioStream lines. Add the htm line under the global; cw/gcw_music but above the others, like this:
    OpenAudioStream("sound\\global.lvl",  "cw_music")

    OpenAudioStream("dc:sound\\htm.lvl",  "htm_hero_vo_quick");

    -- OpenAudioStream("sound\\global.lvl",  "global_vo_quick")
    -- OpenAudioStream("sound\\global.lvl",  "global_vo_slow")
    OpenAudioStream("sound\\yav.lvl",  "yav1") etc......


Save and close the program. Make sure to add the keys to the Localisations.

These are lis.hero.grievous under entity and cis.weap.grievoussabers under weapons (yes, you need to make a new 'lis' scope under entity)

I'ld prefer if you would just call him General Grievous, and the weapon Lightsabers. Thanks.


Now, the installation is complete. Make sure to check he's working properly, if you can't get it installed right, go to
gametoast.com/forums for more help installing this! Note: this is only for modders, btw.

Thanks, I'm mainly focusing my modding career on doing fun things, and these assets took me some time to get them working as I wanted, but now I'm very content.

As said in the readme, Grievous can't deflect anymore (he has no force) but can attack with holding the deflect button. Doing so and pressing the fire button will make him perform a powerful kick (as shown in the vid).

Then, there's the dashattack, which needs some getting-used-to but will definetaly be liked.

I hope this to be used in a lot of mods and maps, since the stock Grievous wasn't very popular!

I'm now going to redo some more CIS-heroes, perhaps. Since I really disliked them all!

Wow, this looks absolutely fabulous! :thumbs: My only question is, is it possible to use this combo with any normal unit, like Aayla Secura or the like? Or does the combo require the four arms that Grievous has. If the former is true, I forsee a very powerful final boss in my map's campaign :D .

This is basicly a munged lvl file. So you can't edit it. I will release the source files sometime though.

And the combo itself can be used for any unit. You can also just edit an combo for your endboss, it really isn't difficult (I learned that while making this one, and another btw). But the animations are made on Grievous original skeleton; the dashattack makes use of his 'unarmed' arms to push away from the ground, and the 'deflectingattack' will show his 'unarmed' arms as well :)

Wow, I just noticed the preview. This is great! I have no idea what that jedi's name is, but I remember seeing that disfigured little dude in Episode I. At last, we shall have jedi that aren't all normal-height men with the same haircut. :thumbs:

Yes I did. Still ain't working.

The weapon path wasn't correct.
I changed it to weapons.cis.weap.lightssabers_grievous and that's working.
But the name is still missing.

Edit:
Got it working! :D
The path for his name is entity.lis.hero_grievous.
