Hey guys. So I started this map five to six weeks ago and was finished with the majority of it about four weeks ago, as I wanted to get the boring/tedious parts done with before the new semester began. So I used the time between then and now to, on and off, polish and do other miscellaneous tasks that needed to be done. And now it is complete and here, the second release of a Sol Map Pack map! :D

Here are some screenshots (courtesy of Marth, mostly featuring sides from here, which are not included with the map):

And here's the readme, which should pretty much explain everything else about the map:
Hidden/Spoiler:
VENUS: RESEARCH STATION - By AQT

What this is:
----------------------------------------

This is a mod map:
- depicting what a human settlement on the real-life planet of Venus would look like.
- that is an addition to the "Sol Map Pack" by Marth8880 and THEWULFMAN.
- loosely based on the "Colonization of Venus" by Geoffrey A. Landis: http://ntrs.nasa.gov/archive/nasa/casi. ... 025525.pdf

Information:
----------------------------------------

Available modes are:

- CW and GCW Conquest
- CW and GCW 2-Flag CTF
- GCW Hero Assault

Total number of missions: 5

All modes are playable online.

The map will show up in the Instant Action list as "Venus" in blue colored text.

Features:
----------------------------------------

- Sides on all on modes are stock, but minor visual changes were made to certain units, specifically the player model, to better fit a low oxygen environment.
- Local NASA astronaut side
- New ambient sounds and music
- Animated props

And many more!

Installation:
----------------------------------------

Extract the VEN folder from the self-extracting archive into your Star Wars Battlefront II\GameData\addon folder. Delete it to uninstall.

Looks great,downloading ! :D

EDIT:
I played the map: visually very good, good gameplay, well balanced, excellent use of the Naboo and Bespin props, with animated objects adding to the immersion : a VERY GOOD map !!!

My map crashed on GCW: I changed my sides folder and it worked.
I think my custom sides somehow conflicted with the sides included.

Looks great my friend, trying now  .

EDIT: Very nice map, it has lot of potential and somehow reminds me of Dantooine: Farmer Village from Dark Times II: The Rising son. Just some things to fix or change (if you want to):
- The Ambient sound/the music should be louder, we don't really hear it.
- The Bothan and wookie with mask look strange, best would be using standar rebel mesh with some addon meshes instead (using Jaspo's rebel space sides as example).
- EP VI Luke should be replaced with Luke Pilot with an oxygen mask.
- In hero assault, most of the heroes should have masks too.
- Some rockets would be nice.
Overall, it is a nice map with a cool loadscreen, ambient sounds, random weather, a quite good gameplay. Keep up the good work  .

If you're refering to the music in the center of the map (Faith of the Heart) it's intentionally quiet.

Well, we wanted to avoid using the Tie Fighter Pilot model reskin like Jaspo did. Just because of our personal taste, nothing against Jaspo's sides.

We didn't add the mask to Luke and the rest of the heroes because AQT wanted to get the map out before school got busy again. Just thought I'd let you know why we didn't do that. Also it would be a lot more size added to the mod if all heroes got masks added.

Actually, it's because AQT and I decided that Jedi can hold their breath for a really long time.

If you are talking about the music in the glass dome, then yes, WULF is correct; if you are talking about the ambient music throughout the map, the tracks are all at their maximum gain while still preventing clipping.

Rockets? :S

Thanks, guys! Glad you all like it. I think WULF and Marth have already cleared up all of the questions. :)

I suppose spaceship rockets. Maybe for future maps.

Could probably just be the windmills. :P

Yeah, I made certain model changes via lua referencing shipped units, so if the original model isn't there, then it will crash.

Awesome map! The graphics are awesome, the gameplay flows nicely and the sides are cool. The ambient music fits and the local side adds up to the awesomness.

Will you [AQT] do more maps for the Sol mappack?

After doing a dashattack I fell through the floor, but other than that it's good.

Playing as Darth Maul on one of the platforms with the greenhouses. I dashed at one of the sides of the greenhouse and then I fell through.
